Mythos Don Colossus
|
Bay South African Warmblood colt
Born: 2018-11-22 To mature at 16.2hh + By Don Quichotte van de Riethoeven (Polydor / Lugano van la Roche) Out of Phoenix Quantica (Quartz de Eclipse / Wachmann) This magnifecent boy is really somethting special! He is a very heavy colt and will be a tall boy reaching at least 16.2hh+! He is very sweet with a curious nature. But the absolute best is his pedigree! Being from such proven lines its ridiculous! His sire, who was imported at a young age shows a phenomenal technique and super movement! His dam completely enhances this as she has just as near perfect jump and movement! Quantica’s dam and sire competed in open jumping classes! Don Quichotte’s dam and sire were also both open showjumpers! This boy is definitely bred for the higher grades and will only be sold to competitive home who will be able to take him to the top! *****SOLD***** |

Lineage
Don Quichotte is a very striking BWP stallion imported into SA in 2013. Currently out through injury, his connections are hopeful of a speedy return to competition as his few outings into the show-jumping arena had spectators jaws wagging due to his presence, scope, power and very correct technique. A well balanced mix of bravery and sensitivity.

Don Quichotte is the half brother (same dam) to Tolano, the sire of Kent Farrington's Voyeur, who was part of the US Olympic team that won silver in Rio 2016. Voyeur was also one of the individual finalists who went through to the jump off. Lucy Davis's superstar horse Barron, also a member of the US Olympic team, is out of a daughter of Knappe Van Heyvelde, the dam of both Tolano and Don Quichotte. What other South African domiciled stallion can boast two Olympic silver medalists in their immediate family on the dam side? Don Quichotte is by Poor Boy, a top level show jumper himself and who is also the full brother of Sonora La Silla (ridden by Jan Tops), still rated as one of the greatest show jumping mares in the history of the sport. Polydor was twice honored with the title "sire of the world", the world’s best transmitter of showjumpers. Gotthard is truly one of the greats. For 7yrs he was the leading sire of showjumpers in Germany - his influence continues to the present day. During his time he sired over 34 licensed stallion sons. Don Quichotte is an even tempered stallion that even a small child could ride, a true gentleman that loves affection as much as he loves life itself. This stallion will give strength, power, scope and movement. The blood of the founding fathers of the BWP (Gottard, Lugano) are for the most part rare today, yet feature in the pedigree of this quality animal. |
