Cumano (sire of Don Cumarco) belongs to the first generation of three approved Cassini sons, who made quite a fuss at the stallion selection in Neumunster. Apart from a harmonious build, he combines a light-footed gallop and an incredible jumping power with an almost perfect technique. Cumano has undeniably inherited these qualities from Cassini, who, under Franke Sloothaak, belongs to the summit of the international jumping top.
The 5-year old products of Cassini are performing well in the jumping sport. 27 of them gained 154 victories and classifications in 1997, which provided Cassini with a 138 (0,71 %) breeding index.
At his mother’s side, Cumano goes back to the best Holstein mare-products, via Landgraf I and Caletto II. Landgraf I is the father of the mother of 75 tested studs, with e.g. Come On. From Caletto II Operette la Silla (J. Tops) and Olympic champion Jewel’s Classic Touch (P. Raymaekers, belong to the top of the WBFSH-ranking. Classic Touch, who managed to win the Bremen and Moorslede GP in 1998, comes back again to Landgraf I on the maternal side.

Cumano
Cumano’s dam-line matches excellently with Capitol I blood. From Weiβe Dame, also in combination with Capitol I, comes the approved stallion Cassino, who is not at all unknown in the jumping sport under the Danish horseman Michael Aabo.

Contender
Bred to one of the greatest of Belgian jumping stallions, Lugano van la Roche, Ocoucha produced Darco, who went on to prove himself a tough ompetitor on the international jumping scene with Ludo Philippaerts.

In 1988, Darco won his first World Cup qualifier, at Olympia, the following year, he won another Volvo for his rider, this time at s’Hertogenboch, Darco and Ludo were sixth at the WEG in Stockholm, and 7th at the Barcelona Games.

In the WBFSH standings for 1999-2000, Darco finished 8th on the jumping sires list, with 35 progeny contributing to his ranking. His most famous offspring is Otterongo who just missed out on an individual medal at the Sydney Olympic Games although Parco is an exciting competitor and now a successful sire in his own right.

In all, Darco sired more than 3000 foals. In the survey of the world’s top 75 jumping sires that appears in the French publication, Monneron 2007 – 2008, Darco stars, coming in the third best sire in the world, with 35 CSI winners. On the WBFSH Stallion rankings for 2007 – 2011, Darco ranked number one, in the FEI/WBFSH Horse Rankings, in 2012 he ranked number 3. He has 45 representatives, with eight international showjumpers with 200 + points.
