Lineage
Danzas is an imported Oldenburg licensed stallion by the famous De Niro. Danzas competed in top level in Europe and we were very lucky to acquire such rare bloodline in South Africa.
De Niro is ranked number 2 (previously number 1), Weltmeyer is ranked number 42, Donnerhall is currently ranked number 4 of the world dressage sire rankings. Article about Danzas: http://www.dressageafrica.com/james-bond-group/ |
Donnerhall was the first of the great competition dressage stallions. Instead of staying at home in his breeding barn, coming out to cover mares (or more likely the phantom mare), Donnerhall hit the competition trail so successfully that he was a valued member of the all-conquering German dressage team, and in doing so started the fashion for breeding stallions who were also serious competitors – a fashion carried on by his son, De Niro. |
De Niro comes from the Akzent II mare, Alicante, who was herself a successful dressage competitor, and who produced De Niro’s full brother, Dimension, a stallion with a good reputation in Westfalia. Akzent II was particularly noted as a sire of broodmares and as well as De Niro and Dimension, he is the dam sire of: Gralshüter, Carismo, Welton, Trend, Pik Labonics, World Man G, Grannus As and Gracieux. At the stallion licensing in 1995, De Niro demonstrated his jumping ability, and although in his performance test at Adelheidsdorf the following year, he went better in his riding score – 145.41 and best of the year – he was also competitive in the jumping section with a score of 117.75 which put him into 11th. Overall De Niro finished 2nd with a score of 141.93. |
De Niro: By the year 2000, and at the age of only seven, he was already competing in Grand Prix dressage with Dolf-Dietram Keller – and the following year carried Mr Keller to the title, German Professional Champion. In 2002, De Niro won international Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special tests at Saumur and Berlin, and in 2003, he was the winner of the German Dressage Derby at Hamburg.
More recently the young rider, Theresa Wahler has taken the ride on the stallion, competing him at Grand Prix level.
As a sire, De Niro has been a huge success. In 1997 he was awarded the 1-a main premium by the Oldenburg Association on the basis of his progeny.

Weltmeyer is a legend in his own time. He was the winner of his stallion licensing in 1987, National Champion of the 3 year old Riding Horses in 1987, Champion of the DLG in Frankfurt in 1989 and Stallion Conformation Class Champion in Hanover. He has outstanding gaits & rideability, cadenced movement & beautiful suspension & elevation. Weltmeyer’s trademark is to leave powerful horses with impressive conformation, good bone & topline, with excellent rideability. |
Calido I
Licenced Holsteiner Stallion Born 1991 - Standing 168cm Calido's offspring are known worldwide as aesthetic, athletic and absolutely impressive show jumpers that are very easy to ride. They include top international competition horses such as Coupe de Coeur, winner of the German Championship in 2006 and 2007 with Rene Tebbel and overall leader in the 2009 Riders Tour with Ludger Beerbaum. Noblesse M won the Grand Prix of Helsinki in 2007 and Eurocommerce Acapulco was Dutch Vice Champion with Gerco Schröder. 187 Calido progeny compete successfully in 1.50 m show jumping classes and together, they have accumulated competition earnings of more than 2 million Euro. 42 of Calido's offspring are now approved stallions and many of them achieved impressive scores in their performance tests. One of them is Cashmoaker, who received a perfect 10.0 for his jumping ability. In 2010, several stallions produced by Calido were premium stallions at their performance tests, in both Hanover and at the Oldenburg International Show Jumping Horse Breeding Association. Calido himself has an impressive competition record which includes more than 20 wins in show jumping classes for young horses. He also achieved the highest score with the jumping index of 140.40 at his performance test. This, plus a good dressage index score, gave him the third-highest overall index score. It's no wonder that Calido's offspring have a rock solid reputation for ride ability. |
Lord (1967) was a winner of Körung, had excellent results at sports, and sired several successful sport horses and stallions. Lord is 75% thoroughbred, the outstanding qualities of Ladykiller xx and Cottage Son xxmingled in him, so he always transmitted his good type and excellent talents. Although Lord won the 1969 Holsteiner stallion approval, it was a controversial decision in the light of his conformational defects, and perhaps as a result of this Lord was at first not used greatly as a stallion, although he was one of the early stallions to jump successfully in competition. |
Wachmann III bred the most A grade showjumpers in South Africa, followed by his dam sire Dolerit. Both Wachmann III and Dolerit sired Derby winners. He is the sire of well over 30 open grade showjumpers, including Alzu Woodlands (who won in South Africa, the USA and Canada) and the 2008 Avis South African Derby winner, Warrangal P. He has been the top producer of A-grade horses in South Africa for many years, siring more open horses than any other Warmblood stallion in SA and Namibia. In addition, his sons Walkabout, Wunderbar, and Wedekind, have themselves sired A-grades. Not only has he proven himself as the most consistent sire of top showjumpers over many years, but his daughters have also given him the distinction of being a top dam sire of showjumpers. |
