Harley’s pedigree is among the best for sport and breeding. His sire line contains three international jumping stallions in a row: Heartbreaker, Carthago and Caletto I.
Dam, Larthago, won several 1.40 m and 1.50 m classes. Larthago is also mother of Cevin Z, who competes in 1.50 m classes and who is approved by the AES studbook. A half sister of Harley’s dam produced Caritano Z, approved by the Zangersheide studbook. Harley VDL jumps with willingness, take-off and technique. He had exemplary show results with Jessica Kuerten. At the KWPN stallion approvals in Den Bosch he handily won the VHO Trophy. Further he won international classes at La Coruna, Aalst and at Outdoor Gelderland. He placed 2nd in the Sainte Cecile Grand Prix and took 3rd place in the Neurenberg Grand Prix. As a 7-yr. old he was Champion of the stallion competition 1.30m/1.35m classes. His offspring jump with scope, are fast off the ground and having a very good technique. Heartbreaker is by Nimmerdor, out of a mare by the international showjumping stallion, Silvano
Despite his jumping success Silvano was little used by the breeders, but mares by him have produced many competitors Heartbreaker commenced his international career in 1.40 classes. In 1968, ridden by the Dutch rider, Peter Geerink, he won the Nations Cup at Falsterbo, and finished third in the Grand Prix of Hamburg, Rotterdam and Geesteren. The following year, they were fourth in the Grand Prix of London and fourth in the Grand Prix at Aachen. He was the winner of the Stallion Showjumping class at Zwolle. Indoctro does not only passes his jumping genes, he passes also a good conformation, which is demonstrated in many champions at the several mare and foal shows. Indoctro not only passes on his jumping genes to his offspring, but he also passes on good conformation, which is demonstrated in many champions at several mare and foal shows. Sheynne de Baugy, the sire of Wahnfried jumped international Grand Prix level with Phillp Lejeune before he became one of the top sires in Belgium. Sheynne is the sire of many top jumpers like Maradonna vd Helle, Oxytetra, Un Blanc de Blancs, Orpee, Rembrant and many more top horses.
Igonia v/d Helle, the dam of Wahnfried, comes from one of the strongest dam lines in Blegium. Besides Wahnfried, she produced the full brother, Maradonna v/d Helle (twice Italian Champion and winner of the CSIO Nations in Dublin with Alessia Marioni. Nana v/d Helle, another full sibling to Wahnfried, was not only a highly talented showjumper herself, but she is also the dam of the approved stallion, Chilli Pepper (by Cumano) who is one of the best horses of his generation. Igonia is also the grand-dam of the stallion, Tugel, Almhugel and the talented Bunchtspecht de Lauzelle. Wahnfried competed 1.40m with Malta Forrest. He is definitely one of the best showjumpers in South Africa. He is super carful, has huge amount of scope, is very athletic and incredibly brave. For such a big horse he was very sensitive and responsive to ride. Rivale d'Or was imported from Belgium and produced to International A grade by Lynda Rabie. Rivale d'Or only stood at stud for a couple of years in South Africa before being exported back to Belgium. From a very limited number of mares, Rivale d'Or produced some super horses like, Capital Rafika d'Or, Waikiki d'Or, Apollo d'Or, Bamboo de Rival, Galway Remmington and Capital Rattler d'Or. Grand Veneur (Sire of Sioux de Baugy) went to stud in 1976 and produced over 300 offspring that jumped in CSO shows with amateur riders, plus more than 80 approved stallions. Skippy ll is by the amazing Galoubet A, sire of Baloubet de Rouet) who is the winner of World Cup final three consecutive years. Lady de Baugy is out of Berenice, who is the full sister of the approved stallion, Uriel (top producer in France) and Dirka, (successful in sport with Nelson Pessoa and the dam of the world renowned showjumper and sire, Quidam de Revel). |
