Lineage
In every way, I’m Special de Muze is unique. First of all his pedigree: sire Emerald has had countless victories with Harrie Smolders, including the World Cup of Washington in 2015, the Nations Cup of Falsterbo in 2015 and the Nations Cup of Aachen and Gijon in 2013. As a sire, the son of Diamant de Semilly x Carthago also does a great job; his oldest offspring compete already at 1.45m level. I’m Special Muze’s dam Walnut de Muze has also won a lot all over the world, ridden by Harrie Smolders. Just to think of Grand Prix and Nations Cup wins in Madrid, Dublin, Doha, Wellington, Mechelen and Calgary. |
Sire, Diamant de Semilly, topped the WBFSH Sire Rankings for the second time in 2016, having been inside the top ten since 2012. During his career, he was French national champion and WEG team gold medallist in 2002, and European team silver medallist in 2003. Diamant's great potential was revealed in 1999 when he was France’s 1st Category Champion at the jumping criterium. Regularly ranked in international classes. He arrived at the top level in 2002: World Champion with the French team (9th in the individual ranking) and Champion of France after a great showjumping season He confirms in 2003 by winning team silver medal at the European Championships in Donaueschigen. In 2004, after a good start (winner of Auvers GP CSI), he was selected to the short list for Athens Olympic Games, but because of tendinitis he had to stop competing for a while. He successfully ended the 2005 showjumping season, winning the two GP CSI***of Saint-Lô and Caen.

Secundus was one of the few British based stallions to be awarded the prestigious status by KWPN in recognition of excellent performance and breeding results.
Secundus, one of the most influential sport horse stallions to stand in Britain, has died at the age of 28 at Balcormo Stud, Fife.
He has offspring representing him in all disciplines, but it is a sire of jumpers that he excelled. His sire, Rigoletto is best known as the producer of the International show jumpers and is a direct son of Ramzes, the founder of the "R" line in the Holstein breed. Rigolette was graded in both the Netherlands and German and was a very influential sire in both countries. His dam's sire, Porter, sired four graded sons and is best know as a sire of jumpers in the Netherlands where he stood most of his time at stud, having been born in Holstein. His sire, the Trakener, Polarfurst, was a noted progenito of broodmares and source of dressage talent.

Rigoletto became internationally famous with the success of Santa Monica with Alwin Schockemöhle in the saddle but his story is very much the story of the development of jumping breeding in Holland.
Ramzes was foaled in 1937 in Poland, he was by the Belgian bred Thoroughbred – and successful racehorse – Rittersporn, who was a grand-son of the great French Thoroughbred jumping sire, Le Sancy. This blood also runs in the veins of Wotan who jumped internationally with Hermann von Nagel in the 1930s and was a member of the German team that won the Rome Nations Cup three times in succession.
Ramzes was a medium framed, harmonious stallion with a very well set on neck, which was heavily muscled on the underside. He had a heavy poll, good width and depth of body and clean legs which were very good behind and light boned in front. His head was plain… In general it can be said that his Holsteiner offspring lacked size and were too fine… In conclusion it can be said that Ramzes had a positive effect on the old Holsteiner type. He sired a huge number of beautiful, supple riding horses. He decisively improved on the old, tremendous but high headed, flat backed jumping form. Doubtless because of his gaits, he produced hardly any dressage horses in Holstein. His offspring’s heads are not always the most beautiful.
